How to Collect Every Photo Your Wedding Guests Took

Guests taking photos at a wedding in Cyprus

Your photographer will deliver four hundred perfect photos. Your guests will take three thousand — and you will see maybe thirty. The rest stay on their phones, in archived stories that expire, and in a group chat everyone forgets within ten days.

What makes that annoying is what is in there: moments the photographer could not have seen. The table laughing while you cut the cake. Your grandfather dancing at two in the morning. The best man’s face during the speech.

The three things couples try

A hashtag

This worked in 2016. Today most guests post to stories that vanish in twenty-four hours, and private accounts never show up at all. You will find a small fraction, and only for as long as you remember to go looking.

A group chat

It works for three days. Then the photos get compressed, buried under messages, and nobody scrolls back. And some guests are not in the chat at all.

A shared QR album

A QR code on the tables. A guest scans it, the page opens, they upload what they took. No app, no account. Everything lands in one place, at full resolution, and stays there.

Why the QR works when the other two do not

Because it asks for one action at the moment the guest is already holding their phone. A hashtag asks them to remember something; a group chat asks them to go looking for a conversation the next day. The QR is right there on the table, at the moment they have just taken the photo.

Guests are not refusing to send you their photos. They are just not willing to take five steps to do it.

What actually makes it work

  • Put a QR card on every table, not one at the entrance. At the entrance nobody has taken anything yet.
  • Write what it is, in three words. A bare QR code with no explanation gets scanned by almost nobody.
  • Ask the DJ to mention it once, after the cake. One mention doubles the uploads.
  • Leave the album open for a few days — plenty of people upload on Sunday, not Saturday.

The shared QR album comes with the digital invitation at €129, with a book of wishes and background music. See it on the invitations page — and if you already have an invitation, it can be added on its own.

Frequently asked questions

How do I collect the photos my guests took?

With a shared QR album: place a QR code on the tables, a guest scans it and uploads whatever they took to one place, in full resolution, with no app or account.

Why do hashtags and group chats not work?

A hashtag misses stories that expire in 24 hours and private accounts; a group chat works for three days and then the photos get buried. A QR asks for one action while the guest is already holding their phone.

How much does the shared QR album cost?

It comes with the digital invitation at €129 (with a book of wishes and music), or on its own at €75 if you already have an invitation.
